Earlier this week, a woman was busted at JFK Airport attempting to smuggle 27 pounds of cocaine in her motorized wheelchair.
The NY Daily News says that the woman, identified as 33-year-old Yoncela Stanley, arrived at JFK Airport Sunday (June 11) on a JetBlue flight from St. Lucia.
A drug-sniffing K9 alerted U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents to the contraband hidden inside the wheelchair’s back seat cushion, officials said.
Upon further inspection, they discovered 10 bricks of cocaine with an estimated street value of $468,000.
According to the Daily News, Stanley was charged for federal narcotics smuggling and her bail was set at $50,000.
