An off-duty black police officer was shot in the arm by a white colleague who he thought was one of the suspects that they were pursuing!

According to Bossip, police were chasing a stolen vehicle when the suspects began firing a couple of shots at them. They ended up crashing the vehicle near the off-duty officers home and he grabbed his gun, department issued badge, and went outside to help out his team.

When police spotted the off-duty officer they didn’t recognize him and told him to get on the ground. After he was identified they told him to get up and walk towards them. As he was walking towards them, one of the cops, who had just shown up, saw him holding the gun while walking towards the officers and shot him, hitting in the arm.

What’s interesting about this situation is that the police department is brushing this off as a minor incident by saying he was hit by “friendly fire.”
