Jessica Alba’s company has been sued for lying. That’s right, Alba’s company Honest Company has agreed to cough up $1.55 mil to settle claims of informing customers their soaps and cleaning products did not contain a certain chemical, in which they did.
The company promoted their products as being free of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). In reality, Alba’s products did contain this ingredient, but just in a different compound.
The company has reached a settlement to pay consumers who were directly affected by the company’s false claims. They will either receive a check or Honest.com credits. The company also promised to redesign their products to address the new change.
