A part of U.S. Marine recruit training that we don’t hear too much about in the Marines is swim qualifications. If you’re not too keen on swimming this could be awfully tough for you.
This training is not just your basic Saturday afternoon swim, either. You have to get through a full distance swim while you’re in full uniform with your boots on, and you’re already required to carry your gear while swimming on your back and treading water.
This is very different than the Army boot camp ,which does not require any type of swim training. But as you can imagine, this water training a great experience to have the knowledge on what do if you ever need it to survive. Check out some of the swimming these new recruits go through:
