Bishop spoke to his congregation on Sunday.

“I’ve been accused, I’m under attack. I want you to know, as I said earlier, that I am not a perfect man,” the revered pastor, but his main words were:

this is the thing, I’m going to fight.”

“There have been allegations and attacks made on me,” Long told the crowd. “I have never in my life portrayed myself as a perfect man. But I am not the man that’s being portrayed on the television. That’s not me. That is not me,” he said to thunderous applause.

-“By the council of my lawyers they have advised me not to try this case in the media. I am not gonna try this case in the media, it will be tried in the court of justice, and dealt with in the court of justice.  And please understand because that is the only place I feel I will get justice.”

Though Long said “this is probably the most difficult time” of his life, he vowed to be at the church again next Sunday, and likened his situation to a mythical battle.

“I feel like David against Goliath,” he said, “but I’ve got five rocks and I haven’t thrown one yet.”
