35-year-old Timothy Cunningham was a highly respected epidemiologist for the CDC and team leader in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
He vanished one day after leaving work with complaints that he felt sick on February 12th and his family as well as police thought that his disappearance was very unusual.
Devastatingly, his remains were pulled from the Chattahoochee River on April 3rd. Police said that there is no evidence of foul play, although it isn’t being ruled out.
Today, the man’s death has been ruled as a suicide by drowning. Cunningham was found wearing what his family describes as his “favorite running shoes.” He also liked to collect crystals and there were three in his pocket.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.
