Earlier this week, we reported that baseball player #DanryVasquez, was cut from the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball team after surveillance footage of him beating his ex-girlfriend was released. Vasquez was arrested for the incident back in August 2016, but basically got off for it since the woman didn’t want to pursue charges.
Now, the ex, whose name is Fabiana Perez is speaking out about he incident and says she wishes she had pursued charges. “Now, when I watch the video, I remember things and I say: ‘How could this have happened, why did I not do anything, why did I not react?’” Perez tells @Univision.
“May God forgive him, only he knows what he did,” Perez said. “If I had the conscience I have now, I would have made another decision.”
Perez says that a lesson she learned from all of this is that you must maintain respect in a relationship. “When there is a lack of mutual respect, things change, things get out of control,” she told Univision. “That’s why you always have to maintain respect, values [and] communication in a relationship.”
Vasquez has now remarried and says that his wife has been supportive of him throughout the recent publicity surrounding the video.
