Last night, directHER #AvaDuVernay held the first public screening of #AWrinkleInTime in her hometown of #Compton. She asked Disney if she could hold it there since there, but there are absolutely no theaters in the city. Needless to say, they showed up and showed out for Ava and the hundreds of children she brought to see the movie by creating an unforgettable movie experience.
“I asked @Disney if the first public screening of #WrinkleinTime could be in my hometown of Compton,” she tweeted along with a video of excited fans. “They created a theater experience with fab sound + picture quality out of a community center since there are no movie theaters in Compton. I thank them. And these kids do too.”
Ava also thanked Compton’s youngest Mayor Aja L Brown for “welcoming me home so warmly.”
A Wrinkle In Time hits theaters next Friday! Let’s show out for Ava like we did for Black Panther! #AWrinkleInWakandaForever
