#Roommates, the moment some of us have been waiting for his finally here. On Thursday Joe Biden officially announced his 2020 presidential run.
According to CBS News, he released a video announcing his campaign and said, “We are in the battle for the soul of this nation. If we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation. And I cannot stand by and watch that happen.”
In the video announcement, he also touches on the shocking incident that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia back in 2017 and Trump’s response to the events.
As many of you know this is Joe’s third presidential campaign and he served as Vice President for eight years under the Obama Administration.
He is expected to hold a fundraiser in Philadelphia Thursday evening and his first formal campaign event is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh on Monday.
Announcing his run officially on social media, Joe said, “The core values of this nation, our standing in the world, our very democracy, everything that has made America, America, is at stake. That’s why today I’m announcing my candidacy for President of the United States.”
As we previously reported, prior to his announcement he once told an audience in Montana, “I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president. The issues that we face as a country today are the issues that I’ve worked on my whole life — the plight of the middle class and foreign policy.”
