#TSRUpdatez: #Mystikal is out of jail on bond after spending the last 18 months behind bars on rape charges.
Mystikal’s attorneys told @tmz_tv that he was finally able to scrape together the $3 million needed for the bond. He was released from a #Louisiana prison after he was able to get the money, reportedly a combination of an advance for a new recording deal and money raised by his family and friends.
“It’s been a long time coming for Mike, but now he can get back to being the artist he is, doing what he loves, and seeing his kids again,” said Mystikal’s attorney, Tim Yazbeck.
He’ll be free until his pending trial which is scheduled for May.
Mystikal’s other attorney Joel Pearce told TMZ, “Based on all of the evidence we have, we strongly believe that an amicable resolution is not only possible but probable as an outcome in this case and that Michael Tyler will never be made to return to jail for a crime he didn’t commit.”
Mystikal was booked back in 2017 for first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. He turned himself into authorities on rape and kidnapping charges back in August of 2017 but the charges originally stem from an incident that took place back in 2016 at a casino where Mystikal was performing.
Also indicted on the same charges for his alleged involvement, is 26-year-old Averweone Darnell Holman, whose bond was also set at $3 million.
Tenichia Monieck Wafford has reportedly been indicted for obstruction of justice after police claimed she tried to make the alleged victim to repeal her story. Wafford’s bond was set at $500,000.
Wafford claimed the victim was lying about her story. The details about the assault weren’t immediately available.
We’ll keep you updated on this story, #Roommates!
