#Roommates, it looks like #ColinKaepernick is finally going to see that shmoney the NFL owes him, but it could be way less than expected.

We previously reported Colin’s decision to file grievances against the league, as he was blackballed from many teams because of his protests against racial injustice. Back in February, Kaep and the league settled on figures expected to be between $60 and $80 million.

According to @wsj, the NFL has reportedly paid out only $10 million for Kaep’s grievances–almost 10 times less than the original settlement amount. To add insult to injury, the $10 million is a collective settlement that will be split between Kaep and former teammate Eric Reid.

The initial news of the lawsuit was seen as a win across social media, and amongst other pro-athletes like Lebron James.

“I’m happy to see the news come out that he won his suit,” Lebron said after the news hit. “I hope it’s a hell of a lot of money that can set not only him up but his family up, set his grandkids up for the rest of their lives. I hope the word of what he did will live on throughout American history.”

Legal experts told the Wall Street Journal that Kaep would have had a very difficult time winning his grievance if he had not settled.

Despite what seemed to be a very blatant act of discrimination, Kaep would have had the burden of proof, and he would have had to show that there was a collective, coordinated effort to prevent him from getting a contact.

Although the amount is much less than what Kaep and Eric had anticipated, do ya’ll see this is a win #Roomies?! Let us know in the comments section!
