Today is Father’s Day! And this year, we decided to switch things up a bit and recognize some of our favorite TV dads. Come inside to celebrate a few of our fave TV dads taking over prime time inside….

Happy Father’s Day!

In honor of Father’s Day 2015, would like to salute a few of our fave fave TV dads taking over our televisions. This year has been a record year for new and returning television shows we love, so we decided to give a little shine to some of the dads who make it all happen.

While he’s a father-of-two in real life, “black•ish” star Anthony Anderson plays dad to four cute kids on the hit comedy ABC series, bringing the laughs every week as he tries to defend his “blackness.” On the show, he’s a funny dad who brings the laughs, but he also teaches his children valuable lessons about life. And we just love the family dynamic of the show.

In a recent interview, the funny dad chopped it up with ABC Radio to dish on his perfect Father’s Day.

He said,

“For my kids to have a car waiting for me to take me to the golf course of my choice. And I just play 36 holes and I come back home and they rub my feet and massage my shoulders and tell me how much they adore and love me.”

“EMPIRE” star Terrence Howard (who became a real dad for the 4th time last month) may not be the nicest dad, but he shows his three TV sons tough love on the show. On the hit FOX series, Lucious Lyon is torn between his three sons on who will become the heir to his majorly successful empire. Who will take over the throne? We will have to watch the upcoming season 2, that premieres September 23rd, to find out.

“Power” star Omari Hardwick may play one of the “biggest drug dealers in New York City,” but we get to see his sweet side when his character’s kids join him on screen. got the chance to chat with the Hollywood star where he dished about being a father-of-two in real life.

When asked how becoming a dad to two kids — his and his wife Jae’s toddler daughter Nova and their newborn — influences how he portrays his character Ghost being a family man AND a super dangerous illegal/legal business man, the actor surprisingly revealed:

“The research in the beginning of this show…I went back and watched so much of “The Cosby Show.” It’s such an innate nature, before I became literally a father, as a father figure to sort of love on people. Even if they weren’t, you know, my children.”

Another dad on the show….

While he’s clearly not the best dad on the show (and some would probably say in real life), “Power” star and producer 50 Cent is one of those dads who piss you off, but represents who some people are in the world. He’s that dad that will go to any extreme to get what he wants, even if it means putting his son in uncomfortable (and disloyal) situations. Going into season 2, 50 aka Kenan is still up to no good and dragging his son Shawn along with him. Can’t wait to see what happens in episode 4.

The dad we love to hate! “Scandal” star Joe Morton plays the menacing father of crisis manager Olivia Pope on the hit ABC series. The Emmy winner’s character loves to play on our emotions, having us love him one minute, then absolutely hating him the next. In the season finale, Papa Pope ended up behind bars…but will it be his ultimate fate? “Scandal” hasn’t been renewed (or cancelled) yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
