Over the weekend we reported about a young man who caught the Australian Senator, Fraser Anning, by surprise when he smashed an egg on the back of his head while he spoke with reporters live on television.
The incident occurred after Anning had been highly criticized for blaming Muslim immigration for the recent shooting in New Zealand. The teen was taken away by authorities and later released as the incident was still being investigated.
According to CBS News, legal funds were raised for the teen, who is now known as “Egg Boy.” The funds have been raised through GoFundMe. However, the creator for the fundraiser says that the young man has decided to donate the funds to the victims of the mosque shooting in New Zealand.
As of Monday, the GoFundMe has surpassed its $50,000 goal. The description on the fundraiser was updated and read, “EggBoi (Will) plans to send a majority of the money to the victims of the Christchurch terrorist attack. I will keep you all updated over the next few days.”
The creator of the fundraiser has been in contact with the young man via social media, where he says he is under strict instructions to limit his posts to social media. He also informed the fundraiser creator that he cannot profit off of a crime, so he would like the funds to be donated to the victims’ families.
As we previously reported Fraser Anning has been highly criticized or blaming Muslim immigration for the recent shooting in New Zealand. Footage showed the young man egging the senator in the head and the senator reacts by hitting him as he is wrestled to the ground and then taken away.
