The Miami Heat won the 2011-12 NBA championship on Thursday night, 121-106 victory in Game 5 of the NBA Finals that gave them a 4-1 series win over the Oklahoma City Thunder behind a triple-double by signature star LeBron James, who was named the 2012 NBA Finals MVP.
James capped his title bid with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds, Chris Bosh added 23 points, Dwyane Wade scored 20 points.
Kevin Durant scored 32 points for the Thunder, who took Game 1 of the series and then dropped four straight. James, Wade and Bosh came out with 3:01 left, and the Heat crowd roared the rest of the way.
James said moments after the win-
“It means everything…I made a difficult decision to leave Cleveland but I understood what my future was about … I knew we had a bright future (in Miami). This is a dream come true for me. This is definitely when it pays off.”
