If you didn’t know how serious these NFL players are with protesting the national anthem, then look no further than #TennesseeTitans player #RishardMatthews.
If you recall the Titans played the #SeattleSeahawks earlier this month and both teams stayed in their locker rooms during the national anthem. Donald Trump has always publicly expressed his disapproval of the protests and urged NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to instate rules to force players to stand during the anthem otherwise be punished.
A Nashville producer named Mark Parker asked Matthews via Twitter if he planned to continue protesting the anthem by staying in the locker room should the aforementioned rule be instated. “No, I will be done playing football,” Matthews responded. Oop!
The tweet has since been deleted.
