A robbery suspect became unresponsive while in Chicago police custody and later died Monday night, officials said.
Officers investigating a West Side robbery just after 8:10 p.m. Monday detained the 25-year-old man in the 1600 block of South Pulaski Road in the Lawndale neighborhood, police said.
At some point, the man became unresponsive and paramedics were called to the scene about 8:20 p.m., according to fire officials.
The man was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police released no other details of the incident.
