Looks like we have another beef, this time it’s between two R&B singers Lyfe Jennings who called out Raheem DeVaughn on Thursday for not participating in a “friendly competition.”
He issued to fellow crooners to see who has the best songwriting chops in the genre.
It started like this……Lyfe took a page from Kendrick Lamar’s book and issued an R&B challenge. Check out what Lyfe had to say:
“Ima do what Lamar did but n the r&b game. Ima issue a friendly challenge. Im writin now.r&b get ready! Ima name names too! Get ya pens out!!”
Also on August 24th, Jennings uploaded a video to YouTube called ‘ABCs’ and in the introduction challenged “a few cats he respects” Anthony Hamilton, Kem, Raheem Devaughn, Musiq Soulchild, Jaheim.
Well of course Raheem DeVaughn didn’t liked being called out. On Lyfe’s Twitter page…where all of this so-called “beef” is happening, because DeVaughn is not engaging, Jennings said that Raheem DeVaughn said he didn’t want to ride in a car with him because of this challenge.
But DeVaughn had threatened him with “shooters.” Jennings is laughing off the incident and not taking it seriously being that he is on parole. He was released from prison in 2012.
Sounds to me this is all for promo, I know DeVaughn & Jaheim have a album coming out in September, I think they are all GREAT R&B singers, so lets stick to singing and not beefing!!
