“Power” fans get excited! The record breaking STARZ series just got picked up for season 3! In “Dope” news, a private screening was held for the coming-of-age film in L.A. and the cast took over REVOLT TV yesterday. More inside….

Now that we’ve got our “Power” fix after the record-breaking season 2 premiere episode, things have just gotten a little sweeter.

It was announced today that “Power” has been picked up for the third season with 10 new episodes! Yes, Ghost and co. will return for another jaw-dropping season. Creator, executive producer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh will return to the helm alongside executive producer and star Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (who also stars in the series).

The cast will begin work on season 3 starting in September 2015 and it will be shot on location in NYC.

Fif expressed his excitement about his project getting the greenlight for a new season. He said (via press release):

“”Power’ is a project I have been passionate about since day one. I am glad the audience loves the show as much as we do, and we are just getting started.”

Show creator Courtney Kemp Agboh also released a statement about the new season saying,

“I am thrilled to learn that season three of ‘Power’ has been officially ordered by Starz. It is an honor to work with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik, Ken Segna and the whole Starz team. Their support has been steadfast from the beginning, and I look forward to a bright future together.”

The season 2 premiere episode garnered a record 1.43 million live viewers, triple the number of viewers of the premiere season’s debut.. In total, the show received 3.63 million viewers over the weekend which made the exciting series the most watched episode for a STARZ original series. Nice!

In movie news….

E! News co-anchor Terrence J was tapped to host a private screening for the upcoming flick DOPE along with The Brand Group promoter Miss Diddy at the Landmark Theatres in L.A. yesterday.

Newly single “Basketball Wives: L.A.” star Draya Michele was in attendance before hitting up 1 Oak. TMZ photogs caught up with Draya outside in L.A. where they asked her about her relationship with Dallas Cowboys player Orlando Scandrick and she revealed they’re not quite done! She said she still loves him and they’re trying to work it out….in private. Check it:

Well alright.

Summer Wayans came out to check out the highly anticipated film.

Then, Miss Diddy and TJ directed the discussion with guests after watching the film.

Speaking of DOPE….

The DOPE cast invaded REVOLT TV yesterday and took over the “Revolt Live” show:

The cast, including, Shameik Moore, Kiersey Clemons, Quincy Brown, Blake Anderson, Tony Revolori, Chanel Iman, KapG and Casey Veggies joined REVOLT Live hosts DJ Damage and DJ Hanna Rad for the “DOPE” takeover.

The coming-of-age-film, produced produced by Forest Whitaker, executive produced by Pharrell Williams, and co-executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, hits theaters June 19th. You’re going to love it!
