Black girls rock! 16-year-old starlet Amandla Stenberg and her friends got together in NYC to pose it up on a photoshoot set for Dazed magazine. And it’s magical. More insdie….
Hunger Games star Amandla Stenberg is all about black girl power! (Remember when she called Kylie Jenner out for appropriating black culture?) And recently, the 16-year-old starlet and her friends, Lani, Syena, Samiah and more were on location in NYC to shoot flicks for an upcoming photoshoot, which we hear is for Dazed magazine.
Amandla and co. created some of their own props for the ’90s themed shoot, holding up a graffiti laced sign that read, “Black Kids ‘R Magic.”
The “Mr. Robinson” actress was fully involved in the makings of the photoshoot concept, adding her own artistic flare to the artwork being featured:
The shoot was all about fun with her homies as they posed it up on the set and behind-the-scenes:
After her spat with Kylie on social media, Amandla took to Twitter to clap back at those who were calling her “angry” for schooling Kylie on cultural appropriation. In a Twitter status, she wrote,
“End the “angry black girl” narrative. It’s just another attempt to undermine certain perspectives. I have strong opinions. I am not angry.”
Peep a a behind-the-scenes clip on the set below:

After the shoot….
Amandla and her friends hit up AFROPUNK at the Lincoln Center to check out Lion Babe’s performance in Damrosch Park.
The teen starlet and her friend got a chance to chop it up and snap pics with Jillian Hervey, the daughter of singer/actress Vanessa L. Williams, from the neo-soul duo Lion Babe. Fun times.
