For those who might be a little lost in the sauce—Stella’s designs are made with African material known as Ankara print.

I’m not gonna lie, as an African myself, I wasn’t sure how to feel about this one. I’m somewhere between oh… that’s umm.. cool I suppose… and GIIRRRLLLL YOU TRIIEEDDTTTTTT IT!

I mean, in my opinion, homegirl could’ve paid homage to the African culture by having African models represent the African pieces in the collection—but that’s none of my business.

Do ya’ll think Stella is guilty of cultural appropriation or are people overreacting? Sidebar — make sure to support African designers/businesses if ya’ll are looking for Ankara print clothing okay??
