Nipsey Hussle is trying to prove a point to industry big wigs and to do that he is selling his latest mixtape “Crenshaw” for One-hunnid smack-a-roos…. Nipsey said that he chose to price the physical copies of his new CD at $100 a piece as a protest to the recording industry.

Nipsey said:

“It ISN’T the price of the plastic case and polyurethane disc…it’s the price of Revolution! The price of Rebellion against an industry that has tricked us all into making products that have no soul for fear of not being heard if we don’t.”

Once rapper Jay Z heard about his stance he quickly showed his support by purchasing 100 copies….

“I got an email that came through my team that was like, ‘Roc Nation, on behalf of Jay Z wants to buy 100 units. Who do we pay? When can we get the shipment out?’ They sent us $10,000, we sent them 100 CDs. I didn’t get a chance to holla at Jay, but through his people he made it clear that he respects the movement and everything. I was humbled by it. I felt like it was a good risk, and it ended up working out.”

Nipsey Hussle has reportedly made $100,000 since releasing his new album.

  1. Luv that he is standing up for what he believes…The music industry has been ruined by white men in suits trying to control artists…

  2. I don’t believe him. I’m sure he’ll make about $11000 off this. I can’t see any more than 11 people paying that much for a CD. Waiting for one of Jay’s employees to put that album online.
