As a result of a league deal with Bose, players are restricted from wearings Beats by Dre during league broadcasts.
Bose became “the official sound of the NFL” after negotiating an exclusive deal with the National Football League.
Bose reached out to the NFL, which announced players can no longer wear Beats by Dre™ on game day, in training camp, in television interviews, or in locker rooms. The ban on the trendy devices ends 90 minutes after the game is over.
The magazine points to an article on Re/code which found Beats by Dre dominates the premium headphone market — headphones costing $100 or more — with 61 percent of the market share, compared to Bose’s 22.
It’s worth noting, Beats doesn’t only have the visibility of multiple high-profile athletes backing its product, it now also has tech juggernaut Apple as its owner.
