Retailers are deploying mannequins equipped with cameras that watch for shoplifters and record shopper behavior to improve sales.  Several high end fashion brands have begun investigate the use of EyeSee mannequins which will cost retailers $5,000 each, but aim to help spot potential shoplifters and personalize your shopping experience after recording your age, gender and race.

Unlike ceiling cameras, it’s at eye level and provides a better picture of who’s in the shop.

Meanwhile, it’s trying to improve the dummies by adding microphones to them so they can recognize customers’ comments about merchandise on display.
