Michael Sam, who recently made history when he became the first openly gay football player drafted into the NLF, is getting his own documentary series to air on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network.
The show will follow Michael as he makes the transition from University of Missouri defensive end to professional football player — Michael was chosen to join the St. Louis Rams in last week’s 249th draft. A release describes the show as “a deeply personal, up-close look at the remarkable man at the center of this groundbreaking moment in professional sports.”
