VH1’s Hip Honors is quickly approaching, and this year’s show will feature a little twist.
According to Variety, Martin Lawrence has been named as one of this year’s honorees. Instead of just honoring some of the legendary musical artists that have helped paved the way; this year’s show will feature a new format.
Focusing directly on the 90’s era, the network will “celebrate pivotal moments from television and film, album releases and music videos to emerge from the decade.”
Martin Lawrence said to Billboard, “Anytime anyone wants to recognize you for your work, it’s an honor. I am looking forward to a really great night of fun and music.”
This year’s show will be hosted by Regina Hall and also feature a performance from Missy Elliot, who was honored during last year’s show.
VH1’s 2017 Hip Honors will take place on September 18th at Los Angeles’ Paramount Studios.
Roommates, will you be tuned in?
