More than ever, R. Kelly has been facing backlash for the alleged sexual abuse allegations against him.
Recently, many celebrities have joined the #MuteRKelly movement to show their support for the women that have spoken out against him.
Now Lifetime has approved a documentary series and movie, which will focus on R. Kelly’s alleged history of abuse against women.
According to Deadline, Lifetime announced on Monday, the new projects from Kreativ Inc. would be tied into the re-launch of their “Stop Violence Against Women” campaign.
The untitled projects will “focus on women who are emerging from the shadows to share their stories.”
Miranda Bryant, the SVP of Unscripted Development and Programming at Lifetime said, “What we’ve seen — in the last year in particular — is the tremendous power of women’s voices when given the opportunity to share their truth. But there are important stories still untold, stories of bravery, resilience, and defiance that demand to be heard. This is one of those stories.”
Women that have survived R. Kelly’s alleged abuse, along with people from his inner circle have been on board to make this project come to light.
Both the documentary series and movie will be executive produced by Kreativ’s Karsberg and Jesse Daniels.
