We all know the 2012 All-Star Game is right around the corner, and course the information is starting to leak out. Kobe Bryant & Andrew Bynum are officially on the roster for the West Coast team. It is the first All-Star appearance for Bynum, 24, who is averaging career highs with 16.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per contest this season. Bynum is the 28th Lakers player ever to be named to an All-Star team.
“Andrew Bynum, as well as guard Kobe Bryant, will be representing the Lakers in the starting lineups of this season’s All-Star game. While Bynum will be an All-Star rookie, Bryant will be making his 14th appearance.
This season’s All-Star game, which will be held in Orlando on Friday, Feb. 24, will feature a very distinct L.A. flavor.”
Bryant and Bynum will be joined by fellow Staples Center tenants Chris Paul and Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers, who were also named starters, giving Los Angeles four of the five Western Conference starters.
