Kanye West swooped into NYC (right in time for Fashion Week) to prepare for the massive launch of his YEEZY 750 Boost sneaker. See what he “gifted” select guests inside…
Attention Kanye West fans….get your coins ready. On Saturday, February 14th – 9,000 pairs of Yeezy Boosts will go for a retail price of $350.
To prep for Saturday, ‘Ye (shown above the Yeezy x Adidas fashion show rehearsals) has been readying a huge launch party happening today at 4pmET.
Select members of the media, who were invited to the unveiling, were sent a customized Yeezy anorak (above).
Back to the launch….a worldwide simulcast event is taking place today at 4pm will and streamed to 42 theatres around the globe featuring a performance by Vanessa Beecroft.
Of course, North West and Kim Kardashian West (shown above outside of the rehearsal) are in town to support the launch (and Fashion Week). SIDEBAR – The NY Post reports that North is wearing a crystal fox fur estimated to cost about $3,500.
And we’re sure North will be one of the lucky ones to nab a pair of the kicks. But what about other folks? Well…if you aren’t one of the lucky 9,000, dont worry – there will be more. ‘Ye told Ryan Seacrest,
“I just want people to be safe and patient. I know you can run up on this 14-year-old kid and take his Yeezys, but just be patient because we’ll make more Yeezys. Eventually, everybody who wants to get Yeezys will get Yeezys. Adidas has promised me that because there’s so many kids that wanted them, but couldn’t get them. And I talked to the heads at Adidas and they said, ‘We can make them.'”
In other Kanye news, he also told Ryan that he’s going to work with Taylor Swift. “In particular, he said he and Swift are planning to collaborate on music. “She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in,” he said. “Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work.”
And….if you’re in NYC, he’s doing a FREE concert in the Flatiron District tonight. The 8 p.m. concert is being organized by Jay Z’s company Roc Nation as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend Concert. Kevin Durant is also expected to make an appearance.
