The mother of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher pleaded with 911 dispatchers and her son’s dying girlfriend after he shot Kasandra Perkins on Saturday morning.
Belcher’s mother, Cheryl Shepherd, who placed the 911 call, can be heard pleading with the dispatcher, “Oh my God. Oh my God, Cassie … The baby is crying … get the ambulance here please!”
She continued “She is still breathing but barely. Please hurry. I don’t know how many times he shot her. They had been arguing.”
Belcher reportedly spent Friday night with another woman before returning home Saturday morning, where he argued with Perkins.
After shooting her 9 times, Belcher kissed the dying woman on her forehead before leaving the house.
Shepherd was in the home when an argument between Belcher and Perkins, his longtime girlfriend, escalated to a violent end just before 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Shepherd does not give any indication on the tape what the couple argued about.
