#JordanPeele had a winning weekend at the box office with the success of “Us,” which garnered more than $70 million in sales and rave reviews its opening weekend.

Many aspiring filmmakers would love to tap into Jordan’s brain to see what his creative process is like and on Monday he treated a bunch of people to just that at #UprightCitizensBrigade Theatre in #Hollywood, home to his comedic roots.

So y’all wanna know Jordan’s future plans for success? He wants to continue putting black faces on the screen in leading roles, according to @hollywoodreporter.

“The way I look at it, I get to cast black people in my movies. I feel fortunate to be in this position where I can say to Universal, ‘I want to make a $20 million horror movie with a black family.’ And they say ‘yes,’” Jordan said. “I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie. Not that I don’t like white dudes, but I’ve seen that movie.”

He touched on this topic while addressing how he’s dealing with the fame that comes with the success of his films, as it’s something he says he’s still figuring out.

“I don’t envy someone who gets famous overnight,” Peele said. “The hardest part is being recognized. I used to think that being in the public eye gave you power. But all of a sudden, they have the power and can come up to you an hour into dinner.”

The upside to fame is having power and he wants to use that power to employ Black actors.

“It really is one of the best, greatest pieces of this story (referring to “Us”), is feeling like we are in this time — a renaissance has happened and proved the myths about representation in the industry are false.”
