As anyone who’s been near the internet in the past five hours will know, it doesn’t get much more ridiculous than “covfefe.”

It all started in the early hours of Wednesday morning, when the current president of the United States tweeted the following insightful message:

Unsurprisingly, Trump’s tweet has led to more than a few jokes. Chrissy Teigen has responded to it. The dictionary has responded to it.

And, of course, J.K. Rowling responded to it:

Obviously there’s a lot about covfefe we don’t understand, but Rowling’s response at least opened up a dialogue about pronunciation:

We still have so much to learn.

UPDATE: May 31, 2017, 11:22 a.m. BST Rowling has now introduced us to something called the “Dunning-Covfefe effect”.
