Issa Rae has been killing it both on screen and behind the scenes.
As fans wait for the highly anticipated third season of her hit show “Insecure,” it was recently announced that HBO has picked up two new shows from the rising star.
According to Deadline, HBO has picked up both a comedy and a drama as a part of Rae’s 2016 first look producing deal.
Rae will executive produce a new show titled “Him or Her,” alongside former Daily Show writer and Emmy-nominated winner Travon Free. The half-hour show “chronicles the dating life of a bisexual black man and the distinctly different worlds and relationships he finds himself in.”
Rae’s second series “Sweet Life,” is set in the Black Beverly Hills of Windsor Hills and is described as a “coming of age tale of the well-heeled teens growing up in the LA neighborhood.”
Issa Rae will write the one-hour drama alongside “Scandal,” producer Raamla Mohamed.
Congrats to Issa on all of her latest projects!
