On a recent episode of “The Talk,” co-host Sheryl Underwood revealed her truth self after making some hurtful comments about African-American hair a few years go. Come inside to hear her apology to the black community inside…

Comedienne Sheryl Underwood put her big girl panties on to offer up a sincere apology to her community after making “hurtful” comments about African-American hair on “The Talk” recently. And it took a lot of guts.

Here’s a little back story….

During a segment of “The Talk” in 2013, Sheryl commented on Heidi Klum saving her biracial children’s hair after shaving their afros. When commenting on the topic she said,

“OK, I’m sorry, but why would you save afro hair? You can’t weave afro hair. You never see us at the hair place going ‘Look, here, what I need here is, I need those curly, nappy beads.’ That just seems nasty.”

Yikes! Soon after, she received tons of backlash! People called her an Uncle Tom, said she was sell out, and even called her coon.

Well, this week on the daytime show, she offered up a sincere apology (again) to her people AND revealed HER natural hair…which looks really good! FYI–She apologized back in 2013 on the “Steve Harvey Morning Show,” but she wanted to apologize again on the platform where she made the initial statements. The daytime talk show host said she was sorry for offending the black community and that she understands why people called her those names.

She also said she understands the responsibility she has as a public figure and plans to do better. Sheryl did say she will still wear wigs, because she likes variety, but she wanted to show she was strong enough to take the truth about what people were saying and apologize for her short comings.

Peep her apology below:

We wouldn’t mind Sheryl rocking her natural more often. By the way, she wore her natural hair for today’s show.
