The Queen of Hip Hop Soul joined British crooner Sam Smith for a duet on his Award winning ballad “Stay With Me.”
The performance with Mary (with whom he worked with on her disc The London Sessions) was the cherry on top of a lovely evening. Sam walked away wth four awards (Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist , Song of the Year and Record Of the Year). Sam and Mary were backed by a large orchestra and gospel-influenced backup singers.
Eight-time Grammy winner Usher paid tribute to Stevie Wonder (who’s won 25 Grammys) tonight at the 57th annual Grammy Award.
He performed “If It’s Magic” from Stevie’s classic 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life. Towards the end of the song, Stevie made a surprise appearance and joined Usher with his harmonica. Usher, who recently got engaged to Grace Miguel, is currently climbing the charts with the Juicy J-assisted track “I Don’t Mind.”
