Gumbumpers, AT&T is fulfilling its promise by doing something great in the African-American community. The AT&T Nation’s Football Classic® is a black college football game held annually at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. This year, the game features Howard University against Morehouse College. Organized by Events DC, the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic® was created to celebrate the passion and tradition of the college football experience, recognize the history of service to others by the students, faculty and alumni of historically black colleges and universities, highlight the unity of African American culture, and honor the heritage and excellence of these proud institutions.
Before the bands tune up their instruments, a coin is tossed or the players even strap on their helmets, the excitement of Black college football will descend on our nation’s capital with AT&T* Nation’s Football Classic® (AT&T NFC). Step shows, games, musical performances, prize giveaways and appearances by Howard alum Wendy Raquel Robinson and Morehouse alum Fonzworth Bentley will highlight an array of activities, culminating with the faceoff between longtime rivals Morehouse College and Howard University at RFK Stadium Sept. 7.
AT&T NFC promises to bring together fans, students, alums and the community for all the fanfare and tradition that comes with Black college football.
“We are excited to celebrate this upcoming HBCU football season with the community and proud of our continued support of education and the rich history of HBCU’s,” said Jennifer Jones, vice president of Diverse Markets, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. ” We look forward to seeing fans show us their school spirit at AT&T NFC and join us on our HBCU Tailgate Tour.”
