Former Major League Baseball pitcher Pascual Perez was stabbed to death in a home invasion robbery in the Dominican Republic. A statement from police in the Caribbean country says Perez was attacked by several people inside his home in a town west of the capital. He had been struck in the head but the cause of death has not been released. No suspects are in custody.
Perez was 55 years old, and the last time he played in the majors with the New York Yankees in 1991.
Pascual got the nickname “Perimeter Perez” when he got lost on the I-285 while driving himself to a Braves game back in 1982 on a day he was scheduled to start.
