Michael B. Jordan is having a huge “moment” in Hollywood as he’s starring in Fantastic 4 (we’ve got the new trailer and poster) and the Rocky-spinoff Creed. Watch him talk about both films and reveal whether he’s met the “other” Michael Jordan on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” inside…

Feast your eyes on the official trailer for Fantastic 4! For readers who aren’t familiar with the popular Marvel-comic series, “Fantastic Four” tells the story of four characters (Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch & The Thing) who were granted special abilities after they transported to an alternate universe (which altered their physical form). Now..they’ll use these new abilities to save planet Earth from the villain Doom.

Michael B. Jordan stars as Johnny Storm / Human Torch (who can turn into fire when he says “Flame On”). His father, Dr. Franklin Storm is played by “House of Cards” actor Reg. E. Cathey and his sister, Sue Storm (The Invisible Woman) is played by “House Of Cards” actress Kate Mara. Yes….the male “Storm” characters are portrayed by Black actors and this has been an “issue” for some people.

Fantastic 4 is the first superhero team from Marvel (it debuted in 1961) and the STorm siblings were originally written as white characters.

During his appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (see below), Michael talked about race and how it isn’t addressed in the film. And that’s a good thing. From what Michael shared with Jimmy, maybe “Sue Storm” was adopted by Dr. Franklin Storm, but it’s not an issue that will be covered in the film. It’s about saving planet Earth…not DNA testing.

In addition to the Johnny Storm excitement, Michael is also appearing alongside Sylvester Stallone in the Rocky-spinoff Creed. He joked about boxing real fighters in the film, chasing chickens (as a workout routine) and the great shape his body is in. He said, “I can’t wait for the summer.” Speaking of summer…we can’t wait to see Michael with his shirt off either….

Michael B. also revealed that he’s NEVER met basketball icon Michael Jordan. However, he is on a “special” NIKE list which gives him first dibs on all the new Jordans before they hit the market.

“Fantastic Four,” directed by Josh Trank, is slated for release in the US on August 7.
