BET’s Upfronts event was held in NYC last night and Brandy, Kelly Rowland, Solange and Eva Marcille were among the attendees. See their pics and find out who else hit the carpet and the stage inside….
BET is coming back with handful of new shows that may peak your interest, starting with Brandy’s upcoming rom-com series “Zoe Moon.”
In between rehearsals for her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in the “Chicago” musical, Brandy hit the carpet at the #ExperienceBETN2015 New York Upfronts event held at the Lincoln Center last night to promote her upcoming new show.
The R&B songstress will play a single mother of a 10-year-old son looking to make a major change in her career, starting her new life as a cosmetics mogul. We love Brandy as Chardonnay in the BET series “The Game,” so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that her new scripted drama will be just as good, if not better.
New mom Kelly Rowland was front and center looking gorgeous on the carpet, posing it up alongside BET CEO Debra Lee. On her new singing competition show “Chasing Destiny,” Kelly is on the quest for the next hottest singing group. She clearly knows a thing or two about functioning in a band as she was apart of one of the biggest girl groups of our time, Destiny’s Child.
Kelly was also spotted at the BET Upfronts event in Chicago a few days ago. Peep those pics here.
Solange hit the scene in a Maki Oh AW15/16 dress before hitting the turn tables.
Model/actress Eva Marcille was styling on the carpet in a gold and black skirt, black crop top and black leather jacket, for an edgier look. The “Top Model” chick has also landed a show on the BET Network, starring in a reality docu-series titled, “About The Business.” The show will follow Eva as she navigates the entertainment business as a budding actress.
“F*ck It All” singer Elle Varner opted for a black strapless Sam Edelman jumpsuit for last night’s festivities. And she was looking flawless with her barely there make up and head full of luscious curls.
Rapper Lil Mama made a statement in a Tracy Reese sheer trench and sequin top, 1of1 by Jolie denim shorts, and BDONNAS thigh high lace boots. Are we feelin’ her look?
“The View” co-host Whoppi Goldberg and Debra Lee caught up with one another on the carpet.
Rap icon MC Lyte was all smiles on the carpet alongside BET President of Broadcast Media Sales Louis Carr.
“It’s A Mann’s World” stars David and Tamela Mann hit the carpet to celebrate their show being renewed by the network. They will kick off the second season of their family oriented reality series.
Gospel songbird Yolanda Adams was serving fab on the carpet.
Gospel musician Kirk Franklin was also in the mix.
Actress/Whoopi Goldberg’s daughter Alex Martin Dean brought some funky prints on the carpet. She has nabbed her very own show coming to CENTRIC titled “According to Alex,” which will follow her new career journey.
Queen Latifah came out to support ahead of the premiere of Brotherly Love (which she executive produced), which hit theaters today.
Elle hit the stage to provide a few musical selections.
Furious 7 star Ludacris rocked the stage with a few of his hits.
And Kelly took the stage to talk about why she decided to do her new show “Chasing Destiny.” She said:
