The NFL regular season is behind us and the fight to Super Bowl 53 has begun. The 12 teams left are fighting for that coveted ticket to Atlanta, including the Eagles and Bears who face off in the Wild Card Round on Sunday, Jan. 4.

The Bears impressed all season with their dominant defense and put themselves in position to claim the 3 seed in the playoffs. The Bears will have the advantage of hosting the game.

Chicago has won nine of its past ten games and ended the regular season with a 12-4 record. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky leads the Bears offense and clocks in with 3,223 yards, 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

The defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, started the season off shaky but crucial wins at the end of the year earned them the final spot in this season’s playoff bracket. The Eagles are underdogs, but that doesn’t mean you should count them out. Last season was a similar picture, with Philadelphia being constant underdogs, and the team took that as motivation all the way to the Super Bowl.

Philadelphia’s season has not been without drama and injury, and this week quarterback Nick Foles will be playing with battered ribs. With the Eagles facing such a good defense it is inevitable that the Bears, probably Khalil Mack, will get to the QB, possibly aggravating the injury.

The Eagles have won 5 of their last 6 games including a Week 16 thriller against the AFC contender Houston Texans.
