Former Ruff Ryders leader DMX has been hospitalised after suffering a concussion in a four-wheeler accident.

The 41-year-old, real name Earl Simmons, was driving the vehicle outside of his South Carolina home when he lost control and crashed while riding down a hill.

According to TMZ.com, the four-wheeler flipped over but the star landed on his backside.

DMX told the website he does not remember much of the incident, recalling only flashing lights from the ambulance when he came to.

There is no word on when he will be released.
