“Mary Poppins” star 87 year-old Dick Van Dyke was saved from a potential fiery death on a Los Angeles Freeway by a Good Samaritan.
According to TMZ, the was extracted from his Jaguar by Jason Pennington, who pulled over when he saw a car engulfed in smoke on the freeway and discovered that the person trapped inside was Van Dyke.
The Associated Press reported that Van Dyke required no medical treatment and was not issued a citation.
Arlene Van Dyke posted video online of the burned-out car and the actor talking with police. Publicist Bob Palmer said Van Dyke was “fine” but “slightly embarrassed” and was “appreciative of the instant help he got on the road.”
