Denver Broncos Team News

Vance Joseph will be making his debut as a head coach in the preseason opener Thursday night against the Bears. So how the Broncos will play under the new leadership is uncertain but it’s known that preseason success is no guarantee of regular-season success.

Before the final decision on the quarterback spot, the fight between Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch will proceed into the preseason games. Siemian will be starting out against the Bears and Lynch will be ready for the action against San Francisco on Aug. 19.

Inside linebacker Todd Davis won’t be playing on Thursday; Corey Nelson will be filling his position. Joseph will be sending Nelson as a starter and expects him to ride on the five-man core team of the interior run defense that includes Brandon Marshall and defensive linemen Derek Wolfe, Domata Peko, and Jared Crick.

Chicago Bears  Team News

Undrafted rookie Tanner Gentry on the Bears roster has given impressive performances in the training camp. The receiver from Wyoming has consistently made big plays down the field along with Nickel back Cre’Von LeBlanc. Both will be looking forward to leaving their mark given a chance to play in the preseason games.

The starting offensive line which consists of left tackle Charles Leno Jr., left guard Kyle Long, center Cody Whitehair, right guard Josh Sitton and right tackle Bobby Massie looks very promising and nothing can be said unless their mettle has been tested. It’s unclear that this lineup will be used in the preseason encounters.
