Chicago’s murders, as seen through the polaroids of photographer Jim Young

For decades, Chicago has been at the forefront of major U.S. cities with a gun problem. Shooting deaths have continuously climbed into the hundreds year after year, and the aftereffect continues to be heartbreaking. In one of many efforts to open the eyes of the community, photographer Jim Young has photographed the aftermath of these shooting deaths over the last six months, capturing memorials, funerals, and crime scenes in the days, months, and years following tragedy.
