Chicago Bulls shooting guard Dwyane Wade will miss Thursday night’s contest against the Boston Celtics due to illness.
It will be third straight game Wade has missed after he sat out the previous two due to a wrist injury.
Wade missed Thursday’s shootaround because of the illness, coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters.
The game is Chicago’s final one prior to the All-Star break. Wade averaged 22.1 points over his past nine games.
“He was in a good rhythm,” Hoiberg said. “For him to go down now with this wrist injury, now the illness, the break’s coming at a good time for him.”
Wade is averaging 19.1 points in his first season with the Bulls.
Hoiberg said forward Nikola Mirotic (back) will return after a two-game absence.
