When it comes to surprising beauty related color changes, Cardi B reigns supreme. The rapper is definitely not afraid to try something new, sporting everything from unicorn-inspired tresses to a chic pixie cut. For her latest new look, the “Bodak Yellow” performer took a hint from one of her Paris Fashion Week outfits and matched her hair to her suit.
The rapper performed at the ETAM Fashion Show on Tuesday night wearing a full runway look from Christian Cowan, which included a lavender suit and matching feather stole that looked like a set of wings. The outfit alone was enough to land her on any “Best Dressed” list on the Internet, but the fact that she matched her hair to her look took things to an entirely new level. Whatever the complete opposite of “regular degular” may be, this is definitely it. To complete the “all purple everything” vibe, she dusted her eyelids in the same shade of lavender.
This is just the latest in a long line of recent hair changes for Cardi B. This week alone, she’s rocked waist-length mermaid hair, a cropped blonde bob, platinum extensions that reached down to her butt, and her natural brown shade in too many different styles to count. Needless to say, she takes the phrase “hair chameleon” to an entirely new level.
As much as we love the light purple, the look was sadly only temporary (and likely a wig instead of a true dye job). By Wednesday morning, she was back to brown in time to sit front row at the Mugler Fashion Show. Don’t worry, though — we’ll check back in a few hours to see what color she is then.
Fall might have just arrived, but the fun summer shade of purple has been frequently spotted in other recent celebrity beauty moments. Beyoncé chose a bright shade of lilac during a recent vacation and Gigi Hadid previously rocked a darker shade of purple. Cardi B might have kept the hue to her hair and outfit, but as makeup artist Molly R. Stern told Teen Vogue, it’s easy to find a similar shade that works for you. “Any [purple] shade will do as long as you’ve got your skin on point,” she said. “Make sure your foundation is matched perfectly and that you have a warm glowing flush on the cheeks. That allows you to go as wild as you want on the lip.”
