On Wednesday at Steel Gym in the Chelsea area of Manhattan, Busta (government name Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr.) got into it with a gym employee. It involved throwing a protein drink at someone! The 43-year-old was arrested around 8:30pm.
The Associated Press reports:
A spokesman for the New York Police Department says the Brooklyn-born rapper and the worker had been involved in a dispute that escalated. He says Rhymes allegedly threw a 17-ounce cardboard container of strawberry protein drink at the man, hitting him in the head. It wasn’t immediately known if there were injuries.
The “Make It Clap” rapper was charged with second degree assault, an his lawyer says he’s confident Busta will beat it.
When he left jail yesterday after posting bail, Busta posted on IG:
