A Brooklyn woman accused of hiring a hitman to kill her husband so that she could pocket $900K in life insurance money, has admitted to remarrying less than two years the death and taking out a new policy on her new husband.
According to the NY Daily News, Alishia Noel-Murray made the admission on the witness stand during cross-examination on Tuesday, June 6.
The 29-year-old admitted that she started dating another man less than a year after her then-husband Omar Murray was gunned down inside their house. Then, she tied the knot again the following year.
Noel-Murray went on to confirm that she took out a new life insurance policy on her new husband.
Her alleged lover, Dameon Lovell, 33, testified against her in court that he paid Kirk Portious, who is also on trial, $3500 to kill Omar Murray. Portious is facing 25 years to life in prison.
In February 2013, Noel-Murray was accused of having confided in Lovell that she needed Murray killed in order to cash in on three insurance policies she had taken out on him and pay off her debts.
If convicted, Noel-Murray is looking at life in prison without the possibility of parole.
