Bobby Brown is not here for the upcoming Bobbi Kristina biopic airing on TV One, and now he is trying to put a stop to it.
According to E News, Bobby Brown has filed a lawsuit to stop the release of the Bobbi Kristina biopic on TV One, which is scheduled to air on October 8th.
In documents obtained by E News, Brown claims that the network “knowingly and maliciously” used his persona and life in the movie and promotion of the film. He also reportedly claims the film “contains defamatory and untrue depictions” of him “being violate” towards Whitney Houston.
It is also stated in the documents that the film “contains defamatory untrue depictions” of Bobby and Bobbi Kristina’s relationship.
Along with trying to stop the film from airing, Bobby Brown is reportedly seeking more than $1 million in damages.
TV One said to E News in a statement, “We are aware of the reported legal challenge by Bobby Brown regarding the film Bobbi Kristina and are taking appropriate steps on behalf of our network to respond. While we are not able to address our legal response at this time, we stand by the film and its representation of this period in Bobbi Kristina’s life.”
Actress Joy Rovaris portrays Bobbi Kristina in the film, Hassan Johnson plays Bobby Brown and Demetria McKinney plays the role of Whitney Houston.
