The 2015 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards brought out our fave YBF chicks to shower each other with love and share some #BlackGirlMagic. Get all the pics of our faves inside…
It was almost too much fabness to handle on one red carpet! Monday night at Carnegie Hall, a few fly chicks glided onto the red carpet for the 2015 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards.
The gorgeous Prima Ballerina Misty Copeland, one of this year’s honorees, hit the carpet in a sleek and sexy all-black look with a head of curls we rarely get to see on her. We love it!
The 33-year-old bride-to-be is having her best year ever…and it’s not stopping with her new title and the GLAMOUR WOTY Award (or her new book, documentary, tv docuseries, and the list goes on). She was also just named as the new cultural ambassador for Mind Leaps! The organization states:
Misty will launch our Girls’ Program in Africa and award the Misty Copeland Scholarship. As the first African American female principal of American Ballet Theatre Misty has become a role model for so many young girls in the USA. Now she is reaching across the globe to help even more children.
As a member of MindLeaps’ International Artists Fund, Misty will travel to Rwanda from November 12-19th to learn how we use dance as a tool to transition street children into education.
Serena Williams, a past honoree, hit the carpet in all black while looking fabulous:
The tennis champ was feelin’ herself on the carpet and had some fun with the cameras:
Lupita Nyong’o, who was one of last year’s GLAMOUR WOTY Award recipients, kept it gorgeous in emerald as she hit the carpet before presenting the Award to Misty Copeland:
Snatched! The Oscar winner rocked a cut-out Jason Wu gown paired with Chelsea Paris shoes for her red carpet slayage.
Speaking of Oscar winners, Oscar nominee Viola Davis looked amazing on the carpet alongside her husband Julian Tennon:
The Emmy winner and “How To Get Away With Murder” star was stunning in a red and black custom Carmen Marc Valvo gown with a matching red lip that just works with her skin.
Pretty. We love her versatility between cute wiggery and her natural curls she often rocks on the carpet.
Hello ladies! “Orange Is The New Black” star Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Hudson and her The Color Purple Broadway co-star Cynthia Erivo kept it gorgeous on the carpet while snapping a pic together.
J-Hud looked stunning in a lace, sparkly Marchesa gown from the Spring/Summer 2015 collection before she changed clothes to perform.
Danielle aka Taystee showed off her curves in this black and blue color blocked frock. By the way, she’s currently guest starring in Aziz Ansari’s new Netflix show “Master of None.” Get that Netfix coin then Danielle!
Fellow “OITNB” star Uzo Aduba kept it angelic in all-white on the carpet.
Beverly Johnson is still a knock out these days.
Gayle King is making her night a late one despite her early gig at CBS “This Morning.”
Supermodel Iman shut it all down in this dramatic look of hers. 6o and KILLING IT.
During the ceremony:
Lupita walked on stage to present Misty Copeland with her WOTY Award and to welcome her to the prestigious club of fellow women who have won.
Lupita commented on Instagram saying:
#MistyCopeland keeps us all on our toes with her excellence. Congratulations to this super-special ballerina! What an honor to be the one to present you with your @Glamourmag #GlamourWOTY Award. #GlamourWomanOfTheYear
Loving the public displays of affection and support.
J-Hud rocked the stage to belt out a few songs in this sexy all black getup:
