Anthony Mackie was convicted of “DWI” in a Manhattan courtroom earlier today. Get the deets on his case inside and more information about the murder of one of Nicki Minaj’s crew members.
Earlier today, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” star Anthony Mackie was convicted of driving while impaired. Anthony was found guilty of the violation and sentenced to complete a drunken driving program and pay fines after a bench trial in Manhattan Criminal Court. The case stemmed from Mackie being pulled over on 126th street and Lenox in November 2013 after he made an illegal U-turn.
Judge Kevin McGrath rendered a guilty verdict which included testimony from three NYPD witnesses. Anthony didn’t testify but he thanked Judge McGrath. “Thank you, your honor, for the opportunity. Thank you for listening to the case and coming up with a fair conclusion. I wish everyone else had done the same,” he said.
Unfortunately for Anthony, he’ll also lose his New York State driving privileges for 90 days. But there’s a bright side – He was given permission to do the intoxicated driving counseling in Louisiana where he’s been filming.

More details have emerged regarding the stabbing death of De’Von (Day Day) Pickett (shown above with Rihanna) and his friend Eric Parker (who was injured). De’Von and Eric were both in Philadelphia for Nicki Minaj’s tour rehearsals when the senseless act of violence happened and now a new report in the Daily News suggested that an act of chivalry led to the stabbing.
According to the Daily News, De’Von and Eric were sitting in a car outside a Philadelphia bar where a fight had spilled out onto the sidewalk. The two spotted a woman in need of help, said Rev. David Wright, De’Von’s pastor.
“He and another young man offered to walk this young lady to her car to make sure she was safe In walking her to her car, they were approached and attacked by two other men from the Philadelphia area that they did not know, That’s when De’Von was fatally stabbed.”
Pastor Wright says De’Von was stabbed two times, once straight through his heart and once in his stomach. He died on arrival at the hospital He wants readers to know that De’Von was a peacemaker and had nothing to do with a fight earlier at the club.
A spokeswoman for the Philadelphia Police declined to comment on a possible motive, but confirmed that police were still looking for a thin, bearded man who raced away from the crime scene in a gray Buick LeSabre. We’ll keep you posted….
